The Techsgiving Summit is an annual event bringing together our community members, featuring technical workshops, career guidance, mentor/mentee matching, networking opportunities, and a showcase for small and medium-sized businesses.
The Summit caters to individuals from underserved backgrounds, including mid-career tech professionals, small business owners, college students, startup founders, and veterans transitioning into tech.
The 2024 Techsgiving Summit will take place from December 11-14, 2024, with Dec 12-13th at The Kennedy Center (REACH Buildings) in Washington, DC, along with virtual and city-wide programming. Please note the REACH Buildings are separate buildings from the main Kennedy Center, but on the same campus.

The Summit will feature a lineup of events spread across four days:
Day 1 (December 11): Welcome Day / Virtual Day: Engage in virtual networking and introductory sessions to kick off The Summit.
Day 2 (December 12): Workshops and Office Hours at The REACH: Participate in hands-on technical workshops and access career-building office hours with industry leaders.
Day 3 (December 13): Panels and Keynote Speakers at The REACH: Attend panel discussions and keynote speeches featuring experts in the tech industry.
Day 4 (December 14): Community Service Day and Farewell Brunch: Conclude the summit with meaningful community service activities followed by a celebratory farewell brunch.
DC Tech Week is a premier event that spotlights the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) as a top tech hub. Throughout the week, attendees can explore cutting-edge technology, connect with industry leaders, and discover career and startup opportunities in one of the fastest-growing tech ecosystems. Events cover diverse topics such as cybersecurity, AI, and entrepreneurship, showcasing the region’s expertise. DC Tech Week celebrates the DMV’s impact and potential, positioning it as a national leader in innovation and technology excellence.
Offerings
Attendees can engage in technical workshops, career mobility sessions, mentor/mentee matching, pitch competitions, on-site interviews, and a speed mentoring event & more.
General Admission includes access to Day 2 activities, such as Main Stage sessions, networking opportunities, the career exhibition area, streaming of Day 1 Main Stage videos, and the vendor and small business marketplace. Attendees can also submit their resumes to the hiring partner bank for on-site interview opportunities.
VIP Admission, covering Days 1 and 2, includes all General Admission benefits plus access to workshops, office hours hosted by sponsors, a complimentary resume review submission before the summit, and professional headshot photos.
Platinum Admission includes all VIP benefits and mock interview prep, priority for the Techsgiving mentor/mentee program, a complimentary Google AI Essentials Certification, an invitation to the private VIP welcome reception with keynote speakers, a tour of the Kennedy Center, and access to the official Techsgiving afterparty.
Workshops are held December 12th, 9:00 AM - 4:45 PM
Eligibility: Workshops are exclusively available to 2-Day Pass holders (General Admission tickets do not include workshop access).
Sign-Up Process: Attendees will receive a sign-up form via email to select their preferred workshops. This helps gauge attendance and ensure appropriate room assignments.
Make sure to register early and check your email for the sign-up form to secure your spot!
Attendees must upload their résumé to the Techsgiving résumé bank ahead of the summit. Selected candidates will interview with companies during the summit, with some receiving job offers on-site. The hiring companies will reach out directly to candidates if there is any interest.
On-site interviews will occur on December 12th and 13th, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Hiring companies will share details on exact time and place for interviews.
Attendees are selected through two methods: Participating companies pull candidates directly from the Techsgiving Summit Resume Bank, or candidates may fill out an interest form for hiring opportunities, and companies will choose participants based on qualifications.
The Mentor/Mentee Matching program offers speed mentoring sessions exclusively for Platinum pass holders. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with mentors from the Amazon Black Employee Network (BEN), gaining career insights and advice. This is a unique chance to engage in fast-paced, one-on-one mentoring, designed to foster professional growth and provide tailored guidance. These sessions will be held on December 12th at The Kennedy Center at 4:30 pm.
Office Hours will be held on December 13th from 9:00am to 4:30 pm. Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for office hours with industry leaders to get personalized advice and guidance on AI, Career Mobility and Govtech from Google & The FBI respectively.
Office Hours are available only to VIP Pass holders.
Attendees will receive a sign-up form via email to select their preferred office hours. Please note that sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to act quickly to secure your spot.
The Marketplace will be available on December 12th-13th at The Kennedy Center. It is an exciting opportunity for vendors to showcase their products and services to attendees, including tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals.
Founders can participate in several events:
Pull Up and Pitch (Dec 12th, River Pavilion): Founders pitch their businesses and receive real-time feedback.
Founder Spotlight (Dec 12th, River Pavilion): A speed-dating style event where founders connect with investors.
Pitch Competition (Dec 12th-13th): Ten selected founders compete for a $10K prize.These events offer networking, feedback, and funding opportunities.
Logistics
Underground parking parage: The Kennedy Center offers a large underground parking garage accessible from the front of the building (2700 F Street NW, Washington, DC). Rates vary depending on the duration of your stay, so check their website for updated pricing.
Directions to garage: From Rock Creek Parkway, turn onto F Street NW, and follow signs for the Kennedy Center parking entrance.
Yes, food and beverages will be available, for purchase, via food trucks stationed outside The Kennedy Center on December 12th and 13th, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
